Napier to Martinsborough

When we made the decision to visit Whakapapa again, it turned out to be the highlight of our trip, so far, for that one day, for that brief moment. Then our journey moved us further south. We'll be traveling south for a while until we have to head back north, kind of makes sense, a little bit anyway. Does the saying "I've always liked traveling south, it feels like your walking downhill", apply to the southern hemisphere? I'll leave that to someone who has a brain to ponder it.
