Oamaru to Otago Peninsula

From Oamaru, the steampunk capitol of the world (as claimed by the locals),  we stopped off for lunch at Moeraki Point. We then travelled to the Otago Peninsula, which has the only Royal Albatross colony on the mainland in the southern hemisphere. Tracy could not get a glimpse of the breathtaking Otago Harbor because she had to concentrate on maneuvering the winding road to get us to the albatross center on time.

After a successful sighting of some chicks that were waiting for the parents to return from the sea to be fed, and some circling juveniles, we made our way to an out of the way farm-stay B&B in the small town of Portobello.
