Touring Aoraki Park

Today we signed up for an eight wheel excursion on an Argo, which took us on some very rocky terrain. With our Sherpa guide Phurenje leading the way, we hiked up the side of the embankment, to view the Taurangai glacier and lake. We had more incredible views of Mt. Cook, and the surrounding valley. This was in advance of our nighttime star-gazing tour, which started at 9:30 PM, which was amazing, because the entire park has been designated as a UNESCO dark area.
