Sailing The Wind

I'm going to make references to another song besides the one in the title. For all
of you in the Northeast:
"It's so goddamn cold it's gonna snow until June
Yeah, they're freezin' up in Buffalo stuck in their cars
And I'm lyin' here 'neath the sun and the stars

We had a great day in Taupo while thinking of everybody back home. The ship we took to see the, not so ancient carvings, was an ocean worthy ketch. The captain, Jamie, used the great wind we had on the lake to show off a bit, but the result was a wonderful ride.  These carvings were actually done by a Maori artist to depict some ancient story that would otherwise be lost with the next generation.

We then went to another geothermal field, the Orakei Korako Hidden Valley. Orakei Korako can be interpreted as "Place of Adorning".

Barbary
Passengers while the ship lists
Close to the shore and still no danger of running aground
Maori carving
View from the deck
Sulphur and steam
More flows
One last time
Scenery
The cows not in the corn, but grass fed beef
Hills and mounds

  2. What an excellent excursion....and a beautiful day. The sun must have felt great. What was the jist of the story the artist was telling?
