Queenstown/Arrowtown

Before leaving Te Anau we had to visit a bird sanctuary where there was a flightless bird of New Zealand, the Takahe, thought to be extinct, it was rediscovered in the Murchison Mountains in 1948.

Along the way we couldn't resist some more pictures of the landscape.

Our next place was Queenstown, but we're nearby staying in an old mining town called Arrowtown.

  1. Arrowtown looks like an American Western town. And how many Takahe do they think are left? Very cool.
