New Plymouth

Continuing on, we drove down the coast to New Plymouth in hopes of seeing Mt Taranaki (or Mt Egmont as it is also known). I'm going to try to use the Maori  language whenever possible to describe the attractions.

We took some pictures of the countryside that, because of the weather, don't do  justice to it's beauty. But first a couple of the local inhabitants, for the bird lovers.

White faced heron
Spur-winged plover
Looks like Weathertop....
Some other jutting rock formations
Some valley somewhere on the way to New Plymouth
