Hokitika

The only thing we had planned for today was a treetop walk along suspended walkways and a 45m tower climb.

At night we went across the road from where we were staying and visited a small dell that had glow worms in it.  It was fascinating to see them up close and personal.

So, I'll take this opportunity to comment on the food we have had along the way. The restaurants and pubs are similar to Ireland in a way.  You order at the bar and either take a small stantion with a number on it, or just sit down and they'll bring your food out. The food is quite good and usually comes with a number of vegetables.  Even the hamburgers come with a number of layers of either beetroot and or cucumbers, lettuce, tomato etc.

The beer is quite good and varies from bar to bar, depending on which local brewer is near town. I've been able to find some pretty good red wines, both in the bars and in the stores for a great price.
